Readers, I should be studying right now. I just read Nancy's underlined-extravaganza posting, though, and am filled with the giddiness that comes from yard saling. So I am taking my 76th break in an hour to tell you about my photo-free saling adventure.
Nan and I traveled separately (I have never been able to spell that silly word) through the town. I had my two youngest with me, and we were hard-pressed to find the cheapest beanie babies possible (they know Mom pays no more than a quarter for a bb). We scored big with a goblin shark, a rainbow inch worm, a cheerful spider, a snake, and who knows what else. We also found in-the-box Hot Wheels (3 for $2; pricey, I know!) and Bakugan books that they have been steadily reading thereby ignoring my please to clean up their rooms. But really, what kind of mom am I to take away their books, I ask you?
We also had the pleasure of meeting a white 10 month old bulldog named Guapo, a yellow lab (age unknown) named Henley, and a 10 week old cute as a button American Eskimo named Bella (Twilight fan named her). By far, this was the highlight, as we are sadly allergic to dogs in our house so we have to get our dog jollies where we can. A pleasant conversation ensued in the car on the way home as to which was our favorite (sorry, Henley, as you were neither a puppy nor inclined to give kisses, you sadly came in third. Bella came in first since she delighted in giving appropriate puppy kisses).
And that was pretty much it. Bathroom stops were big on our list, as well as the desire to get home and play with the newfound treasures, so it was a short saling day for us. Here's to a longer (and photo-filled) adventure next weekend.
